MOTHER'S DAY 2026: REFLECTIONS FROM JULIE
[El Amor de Mamá]
As a female-led brand, we’ve always been shaped by the women around us. And motherhood, in all its forms, is such a big part of that.
So for this Mother’s Day, we’re turning the spotlight towards our community — sharing a series of personal reflections on motherhood and the women who raised us, shaped us, and continue to inspire us every day.
This ‘El Amor de Mamá’, and next up is, Julie Blichfeld.
Stylist, TV-host, founder of @collect23_, Copenhagen creative — but also a daughter to Anne-Kathrine, and a mother to Valdemar & Karlo herself.
Julie is one of those women who naturally celebrates womanhood and inspires others. A free spirit full of expression and colors - and a longtime friend of Pura Utz.
This is Julie’s reflections - on motherhood and flowers.
When you think about motherhood, what comes in mind?
Endless love, big hugs, warmth, kisses, being close, the smell of cake, and being connected in a way you aren’t connected with anyone else.
What did your mom teach you about love or family?
My mom has a very big heart and taught me that love is bigger than everything. It is more important than finances, fancy education, or social hierarchy.
Is there a flower that reminds you of her? Why?
Yes, the Danish flower called the anemone. We always went to the forest together when they flourished in spring. We made small bouquets and placed them in little vases in every room in our apartment. I have a clear memory of my mom being so happy that spring had finally arrived after a long winter.
A special memory of being in nature together?
It must be the anemone-collecting sessions. I could feel how much she loved that activity, and that made me love it too. She’s also a master of nature excursions and has always been very good at packing lunch, cold drinks, snacks, and everything needed for a great picnic — which we did often when I was a child.
